Transcript

Welcome to The restless mind. In this first lesson you watch how your thinking is working right now, without having to change anything about it yet. In this course we aren't practising how to switch thoughts off. We're practising how to notice sooner when they carry us away, and how to come back more easily.

Common questions

Before you download.

Do I need an account?

No. Gentle has no sign-in and no registration. Your name, your progress and your settings stay on your device and are never sent to us.

What does Gentle cost?

The basics, three short sessions, the first lesson of every course, all tapping practices and Rain at the window are free, with no time limit. Everything else is part of Gentle Plus, at $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year — that works out at $3.33 a month, 33 % less. Both can be cancelled any time through the App Store.

Do I have to listen to the basics first?

No. You can start a short session or a course straight away. The basics explain posture, the deliberate pauses in the narration, and the different kinds of practice; they stay available in the app at any time.

Does the app work offline?

Yes, once a session has been loaded. The first time you play it, the app downloads the audio and keeps it on your device; after that the session plays without a connection.

Who is tapping (EFT) suitable for?

For a specific tension that is bearable right now, before a conversation or after an argument, say. Illustrations and spoken cues guide you through the points. You can pause or stop at any time. Distressing memories are not something to work through on your own this way.

Is Gentle a replacement for therapy?

No. Gentle offers mindfulness and body practices, but no diagnosis and no treatment. If symptoms persist or get worse, please speak to a doctor or a psychotherapist.

Are the voices real or synthetic?

The narration uses a synthetic voice. The audio is produced in advance. AI is also used while writing and revising the scripts. Every lesson has a fixed text and sequence; nothing new is generated while you listen.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 and later. Every course and session is spoken in English.
